
Ms. Scott’s dedication to advocating on behalf of working people led her immediately into plaintiff side employment law directly out of law school. This dedication has led Ms. Scott to represent employees in wage and hour, harassment, and discrimination cases which she has done since graduating from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2006.
Ms. Scott graduated with a certificate in Public Interest Law, awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to practicing law for the public good. In addition, Ms. Scott received numerous award for her academic achievement, including a Merit Scholarship, dean’s list honors, and a position on the Moot Court Board. Ms. Scott was also a recipient of the Foundation of the State Bar of California Scholarship, a Public Interest Law Scholar and received the Paul S. Jordan Achievement Award for Service and Contribution. During law school Ms. Scott served as the Chair of the Public Interest Law Foundation, clerked at Legal Aid of Marin and volunteered with Equal Rights Advocates. Ms. Scott graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies.
Ms. Scott joined Winer & McKenna, LLP in April 2008 and became an associate in August 2008. She is excited to continue her path of social justice work on behalf of individuals whose civil rights have been violated. Since joining the firm Ms. Scott has actively represented clients in sex harassment and discrimination cases.
Ms. Scott is a licensed member of the State Bar of California and admitted to practice in the United States District Court in the Northern District of California. Ms. Scott maintains memberships with the National Women’s Political Caucus, NOW, is an active alumna with Law Students for Reproductive Justice and an active volunteer with Planned Parenthood Golden Gate. Currently, Ms. Scott serves as the Director of External Events on the Executive Board of the Good Ol’ Girls.
