Marilyn has practiced as a legal nurse consultant since 1986 and is certified by the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). She has worked in both plaintiff and defense litigation, holding positions within law firms, as well as in an independent consulting capacity. She has assisted in the litigation of personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, and environmental claims. She has assisted with several high profile tobacco cases in California.
Her clinical background includes emergency room, psychiatric, medical-surgical, and administrative nursing. She is a founding member and past-president of the AALNC. Ms. Mason has published in national journals and spoken to and consulted with nurses, paralegal’s and attorneys at both the national and local level regarding medical issues in litigation. Marilyn is currently a member of the San Francisco State University faculty, advising and teaching in the legal nurse consulting certificate program. Ms. Mason received her diploma in nursing from Barnes Medical Center in St. Louis and her bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California. Marilyn holds an active Registered Nurse License through the California Board of Registered Nurses.
